050806 NETHERLANDS AND POLAND EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS
Netherlands won the ECTC after beating Poland in the last round. Poland´s women´s team played 2-2 against Armenia, which was enough for victory in the women´s tournament. All results are to be found under the Results/Live link above..

050731 REPORT FROM THE WOMEN´S TOURNAMENT
Norwegian arbiter Hans-Olav Lahlum has found time to put together an extensive report from the women´s tournament, something he will keep doing throghout the tournament.

050731 GOTHENBURG OPEN
The Open tournament has started, with 45 particpants. For results and pairings, use the link above.
050730 THE TOURNAMENT HAS STARTED
In the end, 66 teams plays in the tournament.
The live transmission covers 32 games which means that  5 whole matches in the  open class and 3 matches in the women´s class are covered.
050725 LIVE GAMES
During the tournament, we will broadcast between 24 and 32 games each day. That means that 6-8 whole matches will be covered.
050725 REGISTERED FOR GOTHENBURG OPEN
26 players have registered for the Gothenbuirg Open Tournament, among them GM Nich de Firmian, USA. All registered players.
050714 TIME CONTROL
As there have been some questions about the time control, we would like to clarify that the new FIDE time control will be used. The playing time will
be 90 minutes for 40 moves plus 15 minutes for the rest of the game with an
increment of 30 seconds per move, starting from move 1.

With the registrations of Georgia (men and women), Estonia (men), England (women) and Azerbadijan (men) the number of teams are now 68 (from 40 countries).

050620 GENERAL ASSEMBLY
The ECU General Assembly will take place on August 6th at 10 am. As some team captains and arbiters will also be delegates the meeting should be finished by 1.30 pm. Official delegates may register through the ECU.

Ukraine and Italy have sent in their applications, and the number of teams registered is now 63 (from 37 countries).

050524 POLGAR PLAYS IN GOTEBORG
The world´s strongest female player, Judit Polgar, will play for the the Hungarian Open class team in the tournament. GM Polgar is also, as of today, the highest rated player registered for the tournament.
